When my friend Lucy mentioned Nero Wolfe to me, Osprey added, "Rex Stout's sister was Ruth Stout, whose work we know from her gardening books". Well, I did not know her from her gardening books, but I have purchased this one because I did a little research and found her main idea was what she termed 'permanent mulch'. As you can see from the subtitle, this form of gardening is 'For the Aging, the Busy and the Indolent', three of my own personal categories!
Also this fits in nicely with my nefarious plan to buy a Nature Mill Composter; it is easy to use, no odor, and makes lovely compost in two weeks from kitchen scraps. Instead of buying fertilizer and sending my scraps to the dump, I think I will make the two cancel one another out.
