The Fallen Idol
Ralph Richardson and Michele Morgan are good in this Graham Greene story, directed by Carol Reed who did The Third Man. The child is the absolute center of the story, however. Haunting, tension-building and tangled, the story starts quietly and ends up with you on the edge of your seat. Marvelous stuff. Well shot and directed.
The boy unintentionally implicates his friend the butler in a murder.
Saw it on TCM during 31 Days of Oscar. It deserved one. Bobby Henrey played the boy.
